Yes. My cat Mixie of 12 years (13 in Sept.) Is now diabetic.

When I arrived home for Summer, i walked in to an empty house. Mother was out of town and my angel greeted me with a series of excited Meows, Mews and Purrowls. I picked her up and I knew something was wrong. She had lost weight and was not using her litter box properly. She also had a bad flea problem. Of the 11yrs that she has lived indoors, she never had a flea on her. The occasional one or two fleas that I would take care of, but this was bad. I immediately started to cry. Like, having a panic attack kind of cry. Shaking, dizziness, etc. Al was there to calm me down. So once mother returned, I asked if I could take her to the Vet. Which I did. The vet was concerned that she had lost 3 pounds since her last visit, which is like us losing 40 pounds in a short period of time. Not healthy. So they took some blood and tested it. It could have been feline leukemia, Diabetes, or countless other things. Sure enough, her blood sugar was high, High glucose levels and high white blood cell count. I cried again. So they want to see her in a week, changed her diet and now I have to buy this expensive ass crap from them, but it's for my Angel and she only deserves The Best.

I'm thinking of having a picture done of her. Something Nice and proper like how she usually acts. She knows she's the princess of the house. And picky. Dear God she is picky! Get this. She loves dry and can food, BUT! If the dry food is nothing but crumbs after she finishes, she won't eat it. She'll wait until she gets fresh food. Can food has to be freshly opened, she will not eat it after it has been refrigerated. Oh and I had to bathe her..she was meowing throughout the whole ordeal. I love her so so much. So if anyone has an artist in mind of who can pull off the piece I have in my head, let me know. Yes I'm willing to pay.
